Russell Wilson Won't Change Approach Regardless Of Contract

Jul 1, 2015 2:11 AM

Russell Wilson will give a full effort in 2015 regardless of his contract status with the Seattle Seahawks.

"Ultimately, it comes down to the play. I let my play speak for itself and let the rest take care of itself. I continue to love the game for what it is and continue to fight and continue to play no matter how much I'm getting paid, no matter if it's $25 million or if it's $1.5 million. I'll be ready to go."

Wilson is scheduled to make $1.54 million this season in the fourth and final year of his rookie contract, a $2.99 million deal he signed as a third-round draft choice in 2012.

He is believed to be seeking a multiyear deal that could make him the highest-paid player the game, a five-year contract worth more than $110 million, with at least $50 million fully guaranteed.

Michael Bennett Open To Holding Out

Jul 1, 2015 2:09 AM

Michael Bennett is unhappy with his current contract with the Seattle Seahawks and is openly considering holding out. Bennett said holding out is "definitely possible."

Bennett signed a four-year, $28.5 million contract ($16 million guaranteed) in 2014.

"I know a lot of people disagree because I don't put up all the numbers, but if you watch the games, I'm doing good things," he said. "They want me to play five positions but pay me for one."

The Seahawks also have prolonged contract talks with Russell Wilson.

Russell Wilson: The Contract Will Work Itself Out

Jul 1, 2015 2:09 AM

Russell Wilson is not distracted by or worried about his contract situation with the Seattle Seahawks.

"It's not where my focus is," Wilson said, via Madison.com. "The rest will work out. The contract will work itself out. I'm excited about it and excited to hopefully be a Seattle Seahawk for a really, really long time. So, that's the goal."

It has become increasingly clear that a deal between the Seahawks and Wilson will not get done quickly or easily.

Dez Bryant, Cowboys Renew Contract Talks

Jul 1, 2015 2:09 AM

Dez Bryant and the Dallas Cowboys have resumed talks on a new contract.

On Friday, the Cowboys had their first face-to-face meeting with Bryant's agents Tom Condon and Roc Nation's Kim Miale in nearly four months.

Bryant has threatened to sit out the season opener, while executive vice president Stephen Jones acknowledged two weeks ago there is "just too big of a divide" in contract demands.

Condon recently accused the Cowboys of taking a "year-by-year" approach in regards to Bryant's status within the franchise.

Bengals Believe A.J. McCarron Could Become NFL Starter

Jun 23, 2015 12:03 PM

The Cincinnati Bengals are highly impressed by the development of A.J. McCarron.

Cincinnati's coaching staff believes McCarron is "fully capable of becoming a starting-quality player," according to NFL Media's Albert Breer.

Although McCarron is no threat to Andy Dalton's QB1 job this summer, his development could lead to a shorter leash should the starter continue to struggle in primetime and playoff games.

Dalton's six-year, $96 million contract is essentially a year-to-year proposal.
